- BLS May 2025 state occupational wage estimates
8 occupations, 50 states, 400 selected occupation rows. Any suppressed state wage and its national proxy are separately identified. Source fields include H_MEDIAN, H_PCT25, H_PCT75 and employment. No missing selected hourly median is filled with a fabricated value.
- BLS May 2025 national occupational wage estimates
The same selected occupations supply a national median comparison for the identical roster. This is not an estimate of a typical establishment’s payroll.
- Census Vintage 2025 state population estimates
SUMLEV 040 and state FIPS join the observations. The release uses POPESTIMATE2024 and POPESTIMATE2025. Washington, D.C. and territories are excluded from the requested 50-state set.
- USAGov state government directory
Each state profile links to the corresponding official directory entry. This is a research starting point, not a confirmation of permits or fees.
- BLS technical definitions
Defines employment, included pay and excluded employer costs. Wage distribution percentiles are not ranges for startup cost or model confidence.

The IRS state government directory identifies business, tax and employer agency routes for all 50 states. The saved index and state-page snapshots were retrieved September 5, 2026. Each state hub presents its own named offices and activity-specific questions.
